Hi,I've been recently working with a model which I wanted to create some animation with.But for some reason unknown to me whenever I started to rotate the engine the assembly comes apart.The model is a simple shaft with a reciprocating motion. The only thing out of ordinary is that there is a free part (a nut) on the shaft which can slide up and down when the shaft is moving.I have no problem while I am creating the motor rotation manually but as soon as I want to build the motion in animation mode it becomes problematic.I am an amateur in SolidWorks and greatly appreciate your help.The file is also attached and the assembly file name is : holder3.SLDASMI am using SolidWorks 2014.

The Windows Update on my device (PC Specs. -> OS: Windows 10, Version 21H2, OS Build 19044.1387) is facing an Error Code: 0x80070643 while performing automatic installation of SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 3 GDR (KB4583463). I ran Troubleshooter (which gave no results) and also manually tried installing the SQL update which resulted in Error Code: 0x851A0042.

I see that I don't have the subfolder named "MSSQL 12.SQLEXPRESS2014 " in the Microsoft SQL Server directory within the registry. Instead of this I have MSSQL.TEW_SQLEXPRESS subfolder which is in the D Drive within my Solidworks installation folder while it should be in C Drive as marked in the image below:

May I know is this because the SQL 2014 version main file has not yet been installed (as I am unable to trace it) or the entire installation needs to be deleted entirely and reinstalled ? How do I perform it in either case ?

I have a SQL server 2014 instance name SQLExpress2014, but you do not have. So you do not have the subfolder. Your SQL 2014 instance named TEW_SQLEXPRESS. So the registry key that you shared is correct.

So this instance is part of a Software package called SOLIDWORKS? Maybe you should talk to that vendor before you start fiddling around. What you show seems to be quite a mess, but maybe that vendor knows what they are doing.

Just for my clarity, this is about an entry in the context menu of windows explorer, not within solidworks itself? I would open up CCleaner's Tool tab, Context Menu, and make sure it isn't disabled. Being as you have two other machines with it working, I would see if it comes up on their machines and possibly try to recreate it on your own machine. Not sure if it would help but you could use the registry to create your own. This article Opens a new window may provide helpful.

Windows XP was released the month I first started working in the SolidWorks channel. I remember attending a rollout event and noticing the guys at DDi were sporting the newly released Windows XP. On April 8th, 2014, Microsoft officially retired this OS after a long 13 year run. Obviously since then there has been 4 other OSs launched so I think retirement is long overdue. In the wake of this retirement, Microsoft pushed out the first update to WIndows 8.1, refining further Microsoft's new generation operating system.

The tech landscape is alive and kicking and I feel like the tech is maturing at an even rate. Products are getting updates, patches and improvements but no crazy new technology breaks yet. As we head into the end of the first quarter of 2014, I am interested to see what the summer product announcements and developer's conferences will bring.

The tech blog has its regular flow of content and this months support monthly news is chalked full of good stuff to talk about. With SolidWorks 2014 SP2 now available for download, it is hard to think about the promise of more tools out of DS this coming summer. I hope that access to many of the new products opens up soon as many of us, even in the VAR channel, still have no access to these new products as of yet.

2014 has been a very busy year for Google after buying Nest and then selling off Motorola after only having the company for a little under 2 years.
